PECS is the best investment for your school!

The team at Physical Education & Active Kids are the North-East’s sole Primary School PE Provider & team of PECS mentors, and we are thrilled of the announcement that the Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed that the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding will continue at £320 million for the 2020/21 academic year.

So what better time is there to use this funding to up-skill staff to ensure they are delivering high quality Physical Education which impacts your school, students & staff fnow and for the furture.

Our award winning PECS (Physical Education Curriculum Support) programme is proven to improve:

*Confidence- teachers improve their confidence in their own ability to deliver effective PE lessons to their pupils.

*Subject knowledge- teachers learn more about PE and gain a robust knowledge that helps them to deliver higher quality lessons for their pupils.

*Tracking and reporting- teachers learn how to track the progress of pupils more effectively, and produce accurate, constructive reports for individuals.

*Planning- through improved subject knowledge and greater ability to track and monitor progress, teachers are able to develop superior lesson plans for PE.

"Very supportive with excellent opportunities to observe good practice and strategies. My mentor has provided lots of ideas to keep all children active and engaged during a lesson and ideas how to progress the skills during a session. Great tips for where to position myself during active time so that I am aware of where all children are and how they are achieving."

Sarah Hall, Y5 Teacher, St Albans RC Primary.

"PEAK's mentor was extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of PE and supported me with my planning and delivery of lessons in a friendly manner."

Jeni Gordon, Y4 Teacher, Riverside Primary Academy.

“As a RQT and first time PE Coordinator, PECS is supporting me to become a confident and knowledgeable leader. PECS is helping to set up the school’s curriculum, promoting active children in school, providing step-by-step targets for me as a leader and is training staff to become outstanding teachers in PE. The mentor that trains us weekly is extremely professional and delivers excellent training. I would highly recommend PECS and PEAK.”

Vicky Wilkinson, PE Co-ordinator, South Stanley Junior School.

"I feel that I am gaining more confidence and enthusiasm in the teaching of PE and this is impacting positively on the progress my pupils are making in their PE skills. It is a really effective process to raise the standard of teaching in PE."

Nicola Elliott, PE Co-ordinator, Cleadon Church of England Academy.
