Summer 2020 is here & we're here for you!

What a year 2020 has been so far!

Schools and businesses closed their doors on 21st March & we all adapted to the ‘new normal’ waiting each day on the government briefing to let us know what we could do.

Many days, weeks and even months passed and then we received a glimmer of hope to claim back a summer of fun and work once again with our brilliant children at our holiday sports camps. Then began the endless hours of reading government guidance, writing new protocols and updating risk assessments to make sure all our staff, parents and children were safe and assured that the PEAK Team could ensure the wellbeing of everyone involved.

Many zoom meetings & a briefing later we are ready to roll! Gazebos were built, balls were pumped up & endless supplies of hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes were delivered!

NOW THE REAL FUN CAN START!

This is the first week of the summer holidays and our sports camps are off to a flying start!

We are only 2 days in and already the children have taken part in races, tennis, dance, finger painting, football, archery, athletics, gymnastics, yoga,parachute games, quidditch, throlf ultimate frisbee & "PEAK's got talent"!

The rest of the week sees the children learning skills and trying their hand anat huge range of activities including orienteering, petanque, kicky rounders, scavenger hunts, football golf, cricket, dodgeball as well as many other fun games as well as arts & crafts too!

As Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, said:“During these challenging times, it has become clearer to me than ever the importance of keeping active and how it benefits not just our physical health but also our ability to pay attention, our mood and our mental health too."

“Every family will have had a different experience of the pandemic, and I know that many children will have missed time spent outdoors with their friends."

We are so impressed with everyone who has been with us, adapted & adhered to the new safety measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety & wellbeing!

A great time was had by all, here’s to the rest of a long fun summer with the PEAK team, welcoming new apprentices and a welcome return of our apprentices who are moving up onto the next level of their training!
