Meet the Team: Jess Kinghorn
My name is Jess & I joined the PEAK team in 2016 since then I have worked in multiple primary schools around the region teaching PE from Nursery to year 6. More recently I have become a PECS mentor upskilling teachers from around the North East in delivering better quality P.E.
A little background about me... Ice Hockey is my passion and I have played since the age of 11! In this time, I have played up and down the country including Scotland and Wales. I have also represented Great Britain at international level competing in tournaments around the world.
In my spare time I love playing ball hockey, which is a new sport to the UK we play in a sports hall with ice hockey sticks, helmet, gloves and football shin pads. I also enjoy spending time watching the local men’s ice hockey team the Whitley Warriors. I can often be found on a Sunday night volunteering at the home games as an off-ice official selling programmes. When I am away from the ice rink, I love spending time with my family and friends.
Working for PEAK is highly rewarding, when I left school I was very unsure what I wanted to do, I attended college for a few months and decided that it was not for me. I then applied for an apprenticeship with PEAK at a local primary school and the rest is history!
I can’t wait to meet you all soon!
